Gari'n Ha Nahal

Gari'n Ha Nahal

The Nahal core of Kedma brings back the spirit of settlement of the past – agricultural activity, education and building community resilience within the borders of the state.

Our Shinshins are given the opportunity to continue on a unique path within the framework of Kedma's Nahal core – A 4-year course that includes:

  • A year of service in one of the communes of the East.
  • Military service in which one can enlist for combat roles in Caracal and the 50th Battalion, for command and training roles in the Education Corps, and for additional cover roles such as NCO, marksman, security officer, and more. From the track, there is the possibility of continuing to command and officer roles.
  • A settlement mission chapter in a kibbutz or fringe settlement, as part of an enterprising and influential core group.

 Agriculture Program

Join us for a challenging settlement service year full of action and, most importantly, meaningfulness!

The Settlement Service Year program combines agricultural work with educational activities. Kedma's settlement communes currently operate in seven locations: in the north, the south of the Hebron Mountains, and the east of the country.

During the year, the Shas are leading a new youth organization in Israel that operates in local communities. Members of Kedma's Year of Service wake up every morning to wild sunrises and go out to work in various agricultural sectors with farmers in the Jordan Valley, the southern Hebron Mountains, and the Golan Heights.

Commune members foster community activity in various fields, undergo professional workshops on life skills, acquire tools that will prepare them for military service, and gain lifelong friends!!!!

Education Program

Join us for a groundbreaking educational service year, full of leadership, creativity, and most importantly – impact!

The service year in Kedma's education track turns you into leaders of action in peripheral communities; in the mornings you will support classrooms, and in the afternoons you will operate youth clubs and community projects.
The communes are spread from the Galilee to the mountaintops, so you will enjoy diverse landscapes, shared living, and close professional support.
During the year, you will acquire tools in training, leadership, and event production, undergo personal development workshops and field trips, and graduate with a second family and a seal on the lives of children and youth.

Farming Program

Join us for a year of farm service in the open field full of work and, most importantly, soil under your nails!

The Farm Track places you in the heart of a farm in the school areas, where you will manage your own agricultural sector – pasture, beehive, vineyard or field crops – and will actually protect state lands.
Spending the entire time in the field creates a physical and mental connection to the land, fosters responsibility and initiative, and provides skills in carpentry, welding, and rural entrepreneurship.
Alongside regular work, you will receive guidance from coordinators, Zionism and Middle Eastern studies, field series and fitness challenges, and most importantly - a tight-knit communal life and an incomparable experience.
